Some Cards

Today I am featuring 2 cards using Jillibean Soups Spotted Owl Soup. It is a great birthday line.

Card: Just 4 You.

With this card I used both the canvas stars from jillibean and layered them concentrically as a design element.

Card: Happy Birthday

With this card I wanted to add some texture to the card base by cutting out a background shape with my Silhouette SD and adhering it tone on tone.  I like how it makes a subtle textural element to the card.

First time at the beach

Sweet Baby Blues

Here is a layout that I made documenting a dress Eric and I got for Charlotte.  I thought the tag was so cute so I used it as the inspiration of the layout.  Charlotte was having none of it.  I got maybe 3 photos of her before she decided to cry and let me know it. :)

I broke out my May Studio Calico kit and some matching washi tape I got from http://www.cutetape.com/ This is my first experience with washi but I am hooked.

Details:

Here I layered some Jillibean Soup canvas flowers and sprayed the top one with Lunch Tray Mister Huey.

This is the tag for the dress Charlotte is wearing in the photos below.  I also zinged on the back of this Corrugated Shape by Jillibean soup.  I love how the dark denim zing matches the text on the tag.

I love these dress form tags in the Home front collection by Studio Calico.

Houston, we have a crawler.

So the big news during Charlotte's 8th month is she crawls. She is on the move and that means so am I. I think it is more of an inch worm kind of crawl than a real on all 4's type of crawl. But she now knows what she wants and which direction to go in to get it.

And normally that direction is in the opposite direction I am at at the moment.  Needless to say this is the view I see of her most lately.

And here are a few shots of me trying to hold her still for more than 5 seconds. :D

How about some Watermelon Gazpacho?

Here is a fun layout I did featuring Jillibean Soups new summer collection: Watermelon Gazpacho.  I fell in love with all the bright colors so that is what I centered my layout around.

Some details:

On this layout I also used my favorite corrugated shape: Frames. I love that they are so versatile.  You can use them as a design element, as a journaling block, to hold a picture.  The best part is they come in circle, square and rectangle in the same package. :)

I am infatuated with the canvas shapes from Jillibean.  I love these flowers and they match perfectly with the Watermelon Gazpacho line.

A little tip to give dimension to your stickers is to prop them up with foam adhesive. It really helps elements pop off the page.
