Precious Little Moments

Happy Friday! Is it just me or did this week FLY by?  I swear it was just Easter Sunday.

I have been really inspired by Susan Weinroth's quilt making (everything she does is fabulous really).  I read her tutorials on Fiskars and am waiting on my first order of cloth. Scheduled to be delivered today.  I am planning on following the tutorial for this quilt to make for Charlotte.

Today I have a post of a layout of Charlotte. I love these photos of her sitting up.  The book she is holding is a gift from her Aunt Clara.  It is her favorite toy she has. It is very kinetic with a bunch of flaps and squeaky bits. I really love it.

A Quiet Moment

Here is a stitching heavy layout I did last night for the Sunday Sketch over at Studio Calico.  I chuckle at the fact that the act of stitching is quite meditative and so is the content of this layout.

For the stitching I printed out the circles straight onto 8.5x11 kraft cardstock.  Then grabbed my paper peircer and went to town adding holes along the lines. Afterwards I grabbed my blue and grey floss and stitched the circles by hand.  Very time consuming but I love the result.

Some Crate Paper Buttons to ground the bottom of the image.

A close up of the title.  A mix of American Crafts Doll Fabric and Pink Paislee Expressions alphabets.

Above I used Denim Zing on a Chipboard then I added crate paper button on top with some of the floss tied in the center.

Here I punched out some studio calico paper and spritzed it with lunch tray mister huey.

I hope everyone is having a fantastic Thursday! Where did this week go?

Love U

Today I have a quick layout for you.  I have been busy the past week getting ready for Charlotte's first easter and my deadlines were also looming for my Jillibean projects. I got them all finished and I cant wait until they go up on the Jillibean blog. Pretty exciting!

This layout I did  for Kelly Purkey's Sketchbook 3 Day 10.  I used the line Blossom Soup from Jillibean to complete this layout.  I am totally enamored with this line. So great for babies and for spring layouts. The light, bright colors just speak to me.

And here are some details:

Sniffle, sniffle, achoo and Jillibean Soup Goodies

Some how I managed to get sick from the time between the hours when I fell asleep last night and I woke up this morning. A wonderful a sore throat and stuffy/runny nose seemed to have take up residence as I slept. At least Charlotte seems to be in a good mood.  I think I am going to make a large pot of chicken noodle soup and cuddle with the baby on the sofa today.

On a fantastic note: Yesterday, I received my box of Jillibean Soup goodies!!!  I have some fun stuff in the works with that.  Jill, Kimber and Co are so kind and generous and the DT girls are so sweet.

The lines I received were:
Blossom Soup
 (Such a cute spring line.)
Spotted Owl Soup, (Their birthday line... but really can be used for anything... perfect for little boys)
Dutch Mustard Soup, (Looooove all the hearts and brown and green)
Chilled Strawberry Soup, (A line printed on Kraft <3. Really really beautiful.)
and Old World Cabbage Soup (an older but still current line... I love the vintage florals and the pops of red.)

Some of these are the first time I am seeing them in person.  All I can say is WOW. Such beautiful paper lines.

Today I have for you a quick layout I did for a "scraplift the person above you" challenge at Studio Calico.

I hope everyone is having a fantastic Tuesday! Thank you for swinging in!

a couple layouts

Happy Monday! Well Mondays are always bitter sweet. I miss the hubs when he goes back to work... but I do enjoy the "me time" I get when the sweet babe of mine is down for her nap. In this time I blog (like I am doing now), I do laundry / clean the kitchen (like I should be doing now), and I scrap (which I will be doing shortly). :)

Here is a layout that was up on the Jillibean Blog a couple weeks ago. I totally forgot to post it here:

This one was a fun one.  I stitched around those adorable alphas with some yellow floss.  It is a really time consuming but completely meditative process and I love the end result.

I am in paper love with Seedless Cucumber and Yellow Bell Pepper.

So Yummy!

A Walk Outside

A layout of a fun stroll in the park.

Details:

I am completely adoring Ali Edwards stamps.  Really they go with everything. I thought this stamp was kind of humorous because it looks like they are in the jungle.

The clouds are chipboard that I applied embossing powder to.  Loving the effect. It is all cute and shiny.  The "A Walk" part of the title is Pink Paislee's Hometown Summer alphabet stickers that I covered in Jenni Bowlin Spice Tin ink.  I wanted it to pop off the light blue background. The "outside" is some text I cut out from my Silhouette SD with some Kraft cardstock.

So Fast!

Loved making this layout.  So much fun playing with the sewing machine and the stapler.

For this layout I stitched around each individual square and around the grey background.  Since I don't think it is physically possible for me to sew a straight line I purposely put emphasis on my imperfectness by going around twice.

I used foam adhesive here to emphasize the hearts.  I felt they were getting lost on the page and the foam really helps add dimension.

For the journalling above I wrote out what I wanted to say on some transparency with a white gel pen.  I like to find creative ways to stick transparency to a page to avoid glue showing up from underneath.  So for this layout I thought staples would be fitting.

I used some MM tiny type stickers to decorate this cute banner.  I love how they are a perfect fit in height.  I finished it off by making a banner out of label stickers and adhering it to a wooden stick.  I threw a heart on it for continuity to the top of the page.

I hope everyone is having a happy Monday! I am on my second cup of coffee trying to get into the groove of the week.  Thanks for stopping by!!

Sunday Brunch

So my first Studio Calico Kit came on Wednesday.  I was super eager to open it and get playing.  As soon as I saw the Strawberry Paper that is a Studio Calico exclusive I knew I had to break out the photos of a  Sunday Brunch Eric, Charlotte, Kevin and I went on a couple months ago.

I used more embellishments on this page than normal for me.  I was feeling in the mood to try something slightly different.  Plus there was so much good stuff to play with it was hard for me to edit. :D

I also received the Jenni Bowlin Inks I have been lusting after.  I think I am now a dye ink convert.  I still love pigment ink for embossing but these JBS inks dry so quick, the coverage is great and they are super bright too.

A little mix of...

Some of Jillibean Soup's Atomic Soup and Kelly Purkey's Sketchbook 3 day 1:

I love the brown in Jillibeans Atomic Soup collection... It is matching the brown pillows from my sofa that Charlotte is lounging on in these photos.  I am also having a lot of fun with these Avery shipping tags I picked up at Staples.  The only bad thing is the smallest pack they came in was 100. At least I can now say I have a lifetime supply of shipping tags.

I also want to give a heartfelt thanks for all the warm wishes, thoughts, and prayers for my Uncle.  He made it through surgery with minimal difficulties and Sunday got moved out of ICU into a normal hospital room.  The nurses also have him up and taking small walks 5-10 minute walks.  They think he can go home sometime this week!  I am really happy to be able to report good news.

Thanks for stopping in!
