Big News, Happy 2013!

So, today I have some news to share to the blog world. Back in October Eric got an offer for a company in Berlin! We are so happy to announce that we leave January 10th. The last two months has been a big one for us. We had many goodbyes and many more still to come. We moved out of our house and into my mom's as we prepared for the move. All my craft stuff has been in storage and packed up while we were awaiting this offer and readying ourselves for this huge move. So that is what explains my absence from updates to this blog.

I have still been busy behind the scenes with Jillibean Soup. I worked as a graphic artist, designing my first line with Jill's direction. I can't wait for everyone to see it! Working with Jill and the gals at Jillibean Soup has really kept me grounded through this whole large step we are about to take.

So here is to a Happy 2013. Big Jumps, Big Changes, Big Adventures!

Yesterday Eric, my Mom and I went to a cute little cafe on Park Ave in Winter Park by our house called The Briar Patch. Here are some photos of that adventure:

Macho Nacho Soup

I have to admit I am normally most drawn to girl lines. I am unapologetic in my adoration with the color pink. That said, I LOVE the Macho Nacho Soup line from Jillibean Soup. I was absolutely impressed with how easy to use this line is.

So today, I am going to show you a few projects I made using this line. 

First is a Mini Album that I made for Eric for fathers day:

I used the Corrugated Pennant Mini album as my base, then filled the pages with papers and embellishments from the Pea Pod Parts and the Coordinating Cardstock Stickers:

Next a Girl Page from a Boy Line:

With this layout, I loved this photo from when we went camping in Tennesee. This is Charlotte sitting on a rock in front of Eric's legs. The green from the trees and the green in her dress was perfect for these papers.

Mixing with Other Lines:

This layout I showed previously but I love this circular pattern on the grey paper (from Macho Nacho Soup) and it matches so nicely with embellishments from other lines:

San Francisco

Today I wanted to give you a peek at a layout I made for Crate Paper using their Little Boy Blue Collection. I love the blues, yellows, and green from this collection, and how easily the papers can be used on travel-themed layout. 

Recently, we visited San Francisco because Eric had a job interview there. We fell in love with the Bay area and the huge city. There was so much character and charm and things to see.

For this layout I wanted to do color blocking and use the bright primary colors from the collection to add interest. Once I got the paper cut to my liking I felt it needed some zig-zag stitching to give it some detail and continuity. The stickers I popped up with adhesive tape to make them stand out from the bright bold background papers.

I hope this layout inspires you to use paper lines in a different way than they were first intended.
